Memories

By:Angie S

How has scrapbooking changed my life? The question is more like, "What did I do for fun before scrapbooking came into my life?" This activity is more than rewarding for me; it is healing.

I need to start at the very beginning.... I had a handicapped brother two years older than me. We were as close as his disability would allow us to become. I was devasted at his death five years ago. By making scrapbook pages about our times together, and even continuing now to remember his special life by scrapping photos of visits to the cemetary and other favorite places we visited together, I feel reassurance that he is watching over me, and enjoys our visits together in this way. When I review photos of us together when we were small children, I can almost feel his presence with me.

But where does the fun come it? I'm also in the process of creating many other albums.... my "Love My Dog" album, my "Millenium Album" and "My Life as the Most Fun Teen My Friends Ever Met Album. In fact, my enthusiasm over scrapbooking has been contagious to my friends, and we often have scrapping get-togethers which last into the wee hours of the night!

Scrapbooking....

Healing....

Fun....

Rewarding...

Creative ...

Bonding ...

What other hobby can you think of that can meet these needs of teens? I know in my heart that this hobby will stay with me for the rest of my entire life.

Thank you for allowing me to share my innermost thoughts on this favorite topic of mine!
