DH found this verse (Song of Solomon 1:16) in Sunday School one day (when we was not paying attention to the lesson). He showed it to me and got me laughing and my brain seething with layout ideas. I had to take two sets of pictures before we got some good ones.
The background paper is from DMD industries (vanilla, I think). The lettering is carolingian done with a zig pen (I've been calligraphing since I was 12). Check out "Written Letters" by Jacqueline Svaren. The B was enlarged by hand from a letter in the same book, and cut out of paper with a craft knife. The fuzzy mat is Thai unryu (wetted and torn) from the Paper Web. |
