| This is my grandmother as a young girl. I don't know if you can read the journaling, but I describe how her expressions in the photos tell a lot about what is happening in her life. In one of the pictures (the one where she looks so sad), her mother has recently died, and she is responsible for her younger siblings, as well as her school work and household chores. The other pictures were taken later, during happier times. I love these pictures, because until I saw these pictures, I only knew of my grandmother as a gray-haired old lady! |
