Ok, bear with me here ladies! First off I hardly EVER scrap on white paper. I can probably count on 1 hand how many layouts I've done on white in 5 years. Also ... being a military wife, with a hubby who has been doing forced protection in Kosovo since they blew up a few years ago, not to mention the countless times he's been gone due to the attack on 9-11 ... it took me a while before I could scrap this event. Tonight, however, I realized many times over, I'm not ready yet. SO ... this layout has taken me all day, and I have to just be done with it. As far as a layout goes, it's nothing special at all. As far as how significant this was in our home and every day lives being already OVER here in Germany, it has to be on the top of our families list. So I'm sharing! =) The button on the left of the journal box is a pin I bought here at our PX that has the eagle on it and says "operation enduring freedom". Our girls and I wore this pin the whole time my hubby was gone (of course our oldest daughter insisted on wearing dad's "dog tags" 24/7 also, feeling closer to him in her own 14 year old way. I also have the greatest picture of her placing them back on his neck the night he came home safe).
Anyway, enjoy! This was really a difficult layout for me, as I'm sure it is for everyone who is going to scrap 9-11 pictures! =)
