The Newsletter Returns!
Yes, I know it's been, like forever since the last regular newsletter.
Some of you are starting to sound like a nagging grandmother -- "how
come you never write to your Nana anymore?" Well Nana, er,
scrapbook buddies -- I haven't forgotten about you.
A lot's happened since the last newsletter (my son, for those of you keeping
score at home, must be about 6 foot 3 now, although we've given up measuring
him for a while...it's come down to us having to adjust the seats in the
cars so his legs will fit in the back seat!)
Some of you whose Internet Service Provider shall remain nameless (ok, well,
it's AOL, there!) didn't get any email from us for a long stretch
there. I've been going back and forth with them for months over this
since they were blocking all our outgoing mail accidentally. Seems
their spam filter didn't know just how charming we are and lumped us in with
the guys who want to sell you Canadian Viagra-look-alike drugs for really,
really low prices. Anyhow, all is nice now, and AOL recognizes us for
the harmless (witless?) folks we really are.
I've been trying to spend more time together with my family. It takes
a conscious effort, because, if you don't watch it, life will take over, and
you'll never really see your family again. At least not together --
you might see bits and pieces of the kids as they rush out the door from
event to event.
We've made it a point to get together as a family just before our youngest
son's bed time. We read a short passage from the Bible and pray as a
family. It's a short time, but it brings us all together each day, and
it certainly helps hold things together. I highly recommend you make
an effort to spend time each day with the people you love -- while you still
can. I personally guarantee that you'll one day be glad you did.
dMarie's Plans for National Scrapbook Day
Saturday May 7th is National Scrapbook Day. At least, that's when it
is for us. I've heard, last year, that people have NSD events on other
days, maybe the Saturday before or the Saturday after and still call it an
NSD event. Do these same people confuse Christmas and New Year's
Day? If you celebrate Christmas on New Years Day, I bet your year
would be all goofed up and you'd be writing the wrong year on your checks
well into March instead of just late January!
Anyhow, we're doing another big 12-hour fancy-catered gala extravaganza this
year (I think it's from 10am to 10pm.) dMarie's working up some huge
giveaway promotions, big goodie bags, a bunch of optional make-and-take
projects, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff. If you're within
driving distance of Paso Robles, I highly recommend you book immediately --
I think there are only a few spots left. It's gonna be a fun one!
