This is the first layout I used pastels with (chalk). I smudged the chalk across the upper left corner and used a cotton ball to bring the effect down across the page. I also used my green pastel to draw a butterfly silhouette on some handmade paper. Then I took a watercolor brush, dipped it in water and "painted" the water across the drawing. After that I tore the paper in the shape of a butterfly (the moistened paper made the tearing easier). I used pink ribbon to tie bows on the matting. I also used the pink ribbon as a border around the page, but you can't see that b/c my scanner cuts off about 1/4 inch around my pages.:) Melissa
