Why scrapbooking is important to me

When I was 18, I discovered that I was adopted.
I have been able to meet my biological father and have formed a relationship with him.

Scrapbooking has assisted me in tracing my biological and adoptive parents' roots. I have created a beautiful heritage album that has allowed me to discover and document all the important people in my life.

After my daughter was born, it became even more of a priority to track her life and establish a means for her to learn her past history. Even now, at 7 years of age, she loves to look at the pages of her heritage, not to mention all the fun pages about her life.

I am making another album that will combine her father's history with mine, so she will never have a doubt of how richly blessed she has been in life. I don't want her to ever wonder about who she is, not even for a second.

Scrapbooks have allowed my to explore that hidden life I once new nothing about and build upon it along side my "adotpive" life. How lucky I am to have such a creative and exicting way to preserve all my memories, feelings, dreams and wishes.

"Scrapbooking is a work of heart that touches it's creator in it's own special way. There is no one way and there is no right way. With Scrapbooking, there is only your way."

I only hope that it can touch someone else's life in the way that it has touched mine. I dream of the day when my great, great, great, great grandchildren are sitting down, flipping through the pages, with interest and admiration for their heritage and for the truly "insane" grandmother that devoted so much of her time to making "these books." (hee-hee)
