How has scrapbooking changed my life?

By:Karen T

Scrapbooking has changed the way I look at the world and the events going on around me. I no longer let special little events just pass me by. I now want to remember them, even the simplist things. And I find that my camera helps me remember events and special (and not so special) things.

I'm a visual person and taking pictures has been part of my life since I bought my first camera with babysitting money when I was 12 years old. I always had my camera with me for special events, but now I have my camera with me for ordinary things.

I have recorded, on film, little things like my daughter talking to our neighbor over the fence, my son reading, and my husband working on the car. These are things that I would have soon forgotten if I had not recorded them on film. I don't just want to remember birthdays and Christmases when my children grow up....I want to remember those day to day, seemingly mondane events, too.

I know that my memory will fade, but those pictures scrapped lovingly in books will remind me, and the generations to follow, what our life was like everyday.
