Remembering
By:Jo in Nevada
One of the main reasons I love to scrapbook is that it lets me take many talents and loves and put them together. I love to look at pictures of my family and remember the things we did as a family. I like the whole creative process of putting a page together. Selecting colors, accents, paper piecings, titles, poems, photos and journal topics makes it out to be a creative process. It does not have to be elaborate or it can be a work of art.
Scrapbooking is important because it captures memories that we may forget. The little memories of where we were, who did that silly thing or who was there. Since the passing of my father in law a couple of years ago, it has been a comfort to my kids. They can look at the photos of grandpa and remember him. We all seem to remember the big events in our lives, but the smaller memories slip away much more easily. I hear from the kids alot "Oh, I forgot about that, that was so much fun".
Scrapbooking has changed my life in the way I view things. I want to capture moments in time to remember the feelings. I think more about the photo I take, who would enjoy the picture in their scrapbook (I want each child to have thier own book eventually). I think that even find myself working a little harder to create memories. Sometimes we get so busy in everyday things we dont take time to enjoy life (making memories)
What I like about Dmarie.com is window shopping. I am a stay at home mom. I sell avon on the side for a little spending money (mc donalds, summer pool pass ect.) I can shop even when I have no money and feel like I went on a shopping trip. I can see the latest trends and I especially love to look at the layouts. There are many tallented people that post their layouts and it is so kind of them to share.
