Scrapbooking Serene
By:Philip S
The question has often been asked to me, "What would you like to do with your life?" A very broad question, I might add, for there are many things to ponder; and in the end, life throws you a turn that you didn't quite expect and you end up doing something that you had never thought about before.
Being an elementary recess teacher is not my life's ambition; but, for now it's an interesting job that has kept me on my toes. It can be quite demanding which is why scrapbooking is so important to me. For every intake in life, there needs to be an outflow...a release that allows you to get away from "reality"...a time where things are predictable.
Scrapbooking is my release. It's a special time where I can sit down and create anything I want; it's my 'me time.' Effort spent in creating layouts, working on swaps, creating paper piecings, and making accents for my pages is effort that is always well worth my time.
No matter what amount of time I put into this hobby, the benefits are rewarding. I can return to my "reality" and veiw things in a different way; I can accept things better; and, I feel more complete. Scrapbooking is more then just a hobby, it is a means to feel content again. It is my way I can deal with stress, pressure, expectations, and demands that life brings. This is why I love scrapbooking, and this is why it is so important to me.
