Nirvana
By:Angela W.
I love scrapbooking for the sheer enjoyment it gives me. Since I am a fairly creative person, who sometimes has the attention span of a flea, scrapbooking provides me with a creative outlet that is ever changing. In addition, I am also an anal-retentive-packrat, who saves everything. For years I have collected boxes, files and drawers full of memorabilia, not really knowing what to do with it. Scrapbooking has given me a venue to showcase the various items which are meaningful to me. Since I am single and do not have any children, by creating these albums, I hope to pass on to whatever future niece or nephew or other relative, exactly what type of person I was. This is not rocket science or even a cure for cancer, but something much more important - a connection with another human being.
On a lighter note, it also gives me an excuse to go shopping, (as if I needed one!). I could spend hours (and have), in craft stores looking at (and buying) the latest in scrapping supplies. I attend a monthly crop, I have met some of the nicest people. In this modern age of gadgets and machines, it's nice to make something with your own to hands and spend time with others sharing your thoughts and ideas. Scrapping has somehow built a "sorority", (or fraternity - to be politically correct), where everyone who has an interest is welcome to join and is greeted with enthusiasm, no matter what how much skill or knowledge they possess. People spend their whole lives looking for nirvana, we (those who scrap) have found it.
