Why I Love Scrapbooking
By:Joanna G.
Why do I love scrapbooking? Ask 50 scrappers and you'll probably get 50 different answers. What I love most is that I now have a hobby that fulfills my creative needs and also preserves my family's history for future generations. Scrapbooking:
Provides a bridge between the past and the future Honors my ancestors Reminds me how sweet and innocent my grown-up children once were Brings back fond memories of days gone by Allows me to forget about the hassles and struggles of day-to-day living Encourages me to take more pictures Rescues my photos from boxes and drawers Is a great way to relieve stress Passes down my family's history Shares my hopes and dreams for the future Gives me a voice to speak to future generations Provides a creative outlet Is a great place for all the memorabilia I've saved Can be a cure for depression Is a great reason to explore the Internet for new products and ideas Helps me make new friends who care about me although we've never met Justifies all the money spent on photographers, film, and developing through the years Gives tangible, lasting results Documents the "Days of our Lives" Proves that sometimes procrastinating can be a good thing (I knew there was a reason I never got all my photos in albums 30 years ago!)
Since I started scrapbooking almost two years ago, I have less problems with depression and have a gained a whole new group of friends. We get together for all day crops and weekend retreats where we share our supplies and ideas and encourage and appreciate each other's work. But I really must admit that the dMarie website has been a tremendous force in maintaining my enthusiasm for scrapbooking. I love the Bulletin Boards, ChatLand, Layout Central, Inspiration, and (best of all) shopping!
