I'm losing my mind (and my memory)

Scrapbooking has changed my life by giving me a wonderful and fun way to keep track of the important and memorable things that my family participates in. While I am still quite young and have always prided myself on my strong memory, it amazes me the things from my childhood or even college years that I cannot remember. Just the other day I was trying to remember the last name of one of my former college roommates.

I realized I do not have a single picture of her and can't even remember for sure where she is from - Texas somewhere it seems. Well, Texas is a big place, and I'm sure there are a lot of girls named
"Sarah" so with the current information I have, I won't be able to get in contact with her again. If I had been scrapbooking in college, I would not have this problem now would I? I would at least have one picture, labeled with names of the girls I lived with.

Now, my husband and I often go back and "check the scrapbook" for dates of events that we cannot remember. I am glad that I am doing this now, because my daughter is too young to help us remember the many events we've experienced since she joined our family. We've taken trips to Boston, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and several other states...and don't think it is easy to keep track of all those pictures.

Okay, so the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls are kind of hard to confuse, but all those American
Revolution sights in Boston...if you didn't label it or write it down right after the fact, you completely forget where that picture was taken. Scrapbooking helps me to do all of that. From now (well, the time I began scrapbooking a few years ago) on, I will have a basis for my lack of memory. I'm sure when I get to be a Grandmother I will appreciate the help even more!

Besides, scrapbooking is just plain exhilarating!
