Why I Have a Passion for Scrapbooking

By:Laura Harvestine

I love scrapbooking because it allows me to be creative while communicating to my family how much they mean to me. Journaling in your album is an essential part of each page. Here you convey stories, facts, and feelings to connect each generation to the family legacy.

Scrapbooking is important because it uniquely touches your time in history. You can include facts and figures that may be lost or unimportant to you in years to come, but may offer a clearer perspective of "who someone is" in the next generation.

The one thing I have learned the most from scrapbooking is to treasure family stories and traditions. Include as much memorabilia as you can. The first lock of hair, a five-year olds handprint, and love letters can all bring back heart-filled memories.

Life is short. Although scrapbooking is considered a hobby to many, when someone dear to us is called away, it is our stories in our scrapbooks that will help answer the "whys".
