Making My Children Feel Special

By:Kim Madrigal, Omaha, NE

I began scrapbooking right after my 1st child was born. It was something I new I wanted to from the day I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to use a scrapbook to make a storybook of his life. I new it was something that would last a lifetime and would become a precious possession to him, I just didn't know how soon that would become true. At 2 1/2, he loves looking at the pages over and over. He thinks it is so cool that there is a book all about him. Someday he will be able to share it with his own children.
Since I had my second child 8 months ago, I must admit that it is difficult to find the time to keep up with all my scrapbooks. But whenever I can find the time, I do. I know that her scrapbook will come to be as important to her as my son's is to him. In addition, it's fun for me to look back at how far they've come in such a short time.
And in addition to all that, I want my children to know how very much I love them. If anything should ever happen to me, they will be able to look at the books I've made them and they will hopefully help to convey how very important they are to me.
