How Scrapbooking Has Changed My Life

By:Jackie Ortgies

Has scrapbooking changed my life? I have to answer a big yes! I finally found my dining room table after having it covered with scrapbooking stuff for the last 4 months. My house will never be the same again. The magazines...the paper...the stickers...the pens...the supplies galore! Every time I turn around there is more to buy and play with. Am I single handedly trying to open my own scrapbooking store? I'm only outdone by my child's toys. I even started to buy my own presents. My Valentine's Day present was a CIS Navigator, which is already full.

The first thing I do every Sunday morning is check the ads for sales on scrapbooking supplies. If there is a sale, watch out! I have to try to rearrange my schedule so that I can make it to the store. It gets a little scary when you organize your day so you can make it to the store before it closes on the first day of the sale.

Scrapbooking has also given me several new friendships. I found several co-workers that also scrapbook. We try to get together once a month to crop. It not only gives us a chance to see what the others are working on, but also gives us time for some girl talk. Our crops usually turn into mini-class. Last time I was convinced to try some chalking.

Scrapbooking has been a very positive thing. Despite the scrapbooking supplies all over the house, and the urgent need to go shopping, I've also developed lasting friendships.
