The Obsession

I started scrapbooking two years ago after my second child was born. Little did I know that an innocent little hobby would grow into a huge blown obsession!
At first I only had a small pile of cardstock and a few scissors. Now I have a whole room dedicated to preserving and cherishing my families memories. I have drawers and drawers of every color cardstock in the rainbow. Patterned paper is now my passion. I need it all!! Paper dolls are quickly becoming my favorite playthings, and my husband is starting to give me funny looks. Do I care? No way. This is the love of my life right after my husband and children. I can't think of a more rewarding past time. My children will be able to look back over the years and see all the love and fun times we shared as a family. I hope they will feel my love for them even after I'm gone.
There is one more reason I adore the art of scrapbooking. That is all the wonderful people I have met because of this hobby. The women who scrapbook are by far the warmest and most compassionate people I've met. I've been blessed to meet some wonderful friends whom I otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet. Our common interest is never ending. There will always be new pages to show off and new ideas to share.
I hope to share my love of scrapbooking to as many people as possible. I have already rubbed off on many of my relatives that have seen my albums. They understand how important it is to get those family pictures out of boxes and into an album that will highlight all the information that goes along with them.
I've heard that having an obsession is unhealthy. Well, I disagree. My obsession has provided an outlet for my creativity, a wonderful legacy for my children, and a heritage that will be passed down for generations to come. I don't think that is unhealthy at all.
