The impact of Scrapbooking on my life

By:Sussann L.

Scrapbooking has opened up a whole new world to me. Not only has it allowed me to meet some of my now best friends, it's also served as a much needed stress relief. I can come home from a long day at work and lose myself in a paper piecing or a layout.

Or maybe I just want to make a birthday card for a friend. Before long the stress melts away, unless I can't find that perfect scrap of paper I saved in a folder "just because"! My husband and I don't have any kids, but I'm still scrapping our lives, because some day, someone might like to look back and see what we were like.

And if not, then I'll have my albums to look at when I'm 90 and have forgotten what it was like to be 18 or 30. I'll be able to remember our first brand new vehicle, and the search for our first house. I'll be able to remember how excited our dog was with her first ice cream cone.

Scrapbooking isn't for my mom or my husband's sister or anyone else, it's for my husband and me. The enjoyment I get, the satisfaction of a completed layout, the sense of accomplishment is why I scrap.
