A New Passion

By:Risa A.

I began scrapbooking in September of 1998 about a month after I was in a serious car accident which has left me with a permanent brain injury. I had to stop doing lots of things I really loved, but I also began to do some things for the first time. While I was recovering initially, I got a scrapbooking kit and thought it looked really interesting. I began slowly and also began making cards for my friends and family.

I have found that they both had fufilled my need for creative expression and to help occupy my mind. I know that when I am working on a page or a card that the times passes so quickly and the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the project, whether big or small of just great! I had always liked taking pictures and like so many they were in albums with no journaling or anything else really.

Now, when I visit my friends and family back home (in Ohio) they always want to take a look at the latest pages. I know how prescious and precarious life is, and how important it is to tell the stories of your friends and family so that they do not become lost to future generations.
