Why I Love Scrapbooking

By:Andrea S.

All my life I have been drawn to art supplies. Like so many little children, I was in heaven the first time I got the "big box" of Crayola Crayons with the sharpener in the back. Ever since then I have loved the displays of watercolors, acrylics, papers, brushes all lined up in beautiful rainbows of color. The problem was that I had no artistic talent. None. And then came scrapbooking.

Suddenly I had a reason to buy all, and I do mean all, the beautiful supplies that I had been lusting after all my life. I can go into a store needing one piece of paper and come out, quite happily, with forty pounds of paper, 5 templates, and some new tool the exact use of which is completely unknown to me.

Then I found rubber stamps. And I was thrilled beyond belief to find that they could be used in my scrapbooks. And ink. A whole new wonderful world of ink to play with. And the ink comes in rainbow palettes.

Now the kid with no artistic talent can make beautiful works of art of all kinds. Okay, maybe not beautiful to anyone but me, but I'm having one heck of a good time.

And everytime I take out my supplies, which now command their own room, I feel just like when I was little playing with my box of Crayons. A little slice of heaven.
