The Scrapbooker Within

By:Sharon Danckert-Smith

I started scrapbooking about 18 months ago when I became a Daisy Girl Scout Leader. One of the projects I saw on-line were cute "scrapbook" covers with a daisy on the cover. I had never done scrapbooking before, and truly had no clue where to start. (Silly me, I gave the girls (age 5) construction paper!)

I took lots of pictures, and as usual, got way behind in getting them developed and passed out to the girls. But I had found the Scrapbooking section of a local store and subscribed to some scrapbooking magazines, and bought some "Scrapbooking for Beginners" books, and before I knew what hit me (and my husband's wallet...), I was addicted!

At the end of the Girl Scout year, I created cute scrapbooks for each of the girls, re-did the covers, and handed them out at our closing ceremony. The girls and their parents loved them, and I had a blast using new circle cutters, punches, acid-free paper, decorative scissors, and trying out every new technique and product I found. Thanks to on-line shopping & great web sites like dMarie.com, I have learned so much and have found a passion for this creative hobby.
