Why I Love Scrapbooking
By:Cindy W.
I have always been a crafter. I took sewing lessons as a child, loved drawing, took up all types of handiwork: crocheting, needlepoint, cross-stitching, knitting. But something was always missing. Even as I made something for someone else, I didn't feel as if I'd made my mark.
Then, I found scrapbooking. The boundaries are limitless. If I want to include sewing, drawings, or any type of handicraft on my pages, I can. There are no rules. I can be as creative as I want and most important: I can make my mark.
With my art, I can include the most precious gift of all. Words. I can tell a story that my children may not otherwise remember. I can express my feelings for them or just give them a peek at who I really am. I can even narrate the photos of an ordinary day. A day that may pass unnoticed but means something to me. I've already noticed how much my children enjoy my scrapbooking, so I know they'll continue to appreciate the albums I'll create for them. I love scrapbooking because as long as my children have my words, they'll have me.
