Not Just A Hobby

I've often been asked if scrapbooking is my hobby. Is it? I'm not sure if it is my hobby or my lifestyle. Photography has always been my hobby, but when I began scrapbooking my photographs took on a whole new life.

Photographs that are well taken can almost tell a story by themselves. But when placed in a scrapbook with journaling and embellishments, they tell the whole story. I often meet people who love to look at my albums, even if they don't know any of the people in the pictures. That was not the case when they were placed in a traditional album.

The reason I can say now that it is a lifestyle is due to crops. I attend crops often and in many different places. I have never attended a crop where I left without having a new friend. In the last year, I have not attended a crop that I didn't already know someone that I had met at a previous crop. I now have friends all over the United States, in Canada, and in Australia.

I have been involved in many crafts throughout my life, but I have never had one change my life as this one has. Thus, I say it is not hobby, it is a life style.
