The importance of scrapbooking

By:Angie M.

There are so many different ways that scrapbooking can be important. Imagine a scrapbook from your ancestors that tells of their journey through life and all the trials they went through....how priceless would that be!

By doing that with our lives, our descendents will be able to see into our lives and just maybe we can pass on alot of our faith and beliefs, etc that would get lost through the years without scrapbooks. Scrapbooking can also be very inmportant in enhancing our lives in the present.

It can bring us closer to our children by letting them know through our journaling just how much they mean to us. It also gives us a chance to share in the process of building our books with our children as we teach them to carry on the tradition of scrapbooking. It can also help carry us through down times in our lives....we can look at our scrapbooks and see all the joyful times we have had and be able to look into the future with anticipation instead of dread. It can also carry us through periods of grief in our lives when loved ones pass away as we look at all they have accomplished in their lives and the differences they made while they were here.

Scrapbooking is sooo much more than a craft but yet we can use our creativity at the same time and have lots of fun while preserving our memories for the future generations.
