Don't forget to journal

By:Amy W.

I've been reminded this past year how important scrapbooking is. My daughters eight year old friend was killed in a car accident. This tragedy has put scrapbooking into a whole new light for me. I have been scrapbooking with my notion that my children will have these memories when I am gone.

Now I realize that I am also scrapbooking these for myself. I want to capture every nuance of my childrens lives. Their smiles, their personalities, their passions, their dreams. Life is too precious not to capture and try to preserve in some form.

I am thankful that the mother of that 8 year old had lots and lots of pictures to remember her only child. I bet she wishes she had written down every detail of her growing up also. So, my new goal is to journal extensively my childrens lives. We may think that we will never forget that cute thing they said, or that quirky little habit, but we do. Journal everyday, and you will never be at a loss as to what to write in your scrapbooks. Many years from now, you will be glad that you did.
